Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary

Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the South Delhi district, all along the Delhi, Faridabad, Haryana and Gurgaon interstate border. It is sometimes referred to as Indira Priyadarshini wildlife sanctuary and was established as a wildlife sanctuary on 09.10.1986. It is nestled on Southern Ridge, the northern terminal of Aravalli Hill Range.

Fauna
Black-naped hare, blue bull, leopard, black buck, hyena, nocturnal civet, porcupines and different species of rare migratory birds.

How To Get There
Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi is about 25 km away from the sanctuary. Maharana Pratap Bus Stand, about 32 km away, is the closest major bus stop. Delhi Railway station is about 30 km away. The frequency of the local transport is not that good. Therefore, it is always a good idea to reach the sanctuary in private vehicles. From Tughlakabad one has to drive via Mehruali-Badarpur Road to Surajkund Road (about 2 km) near Krani Singh Shooting Range. From Mehruali one has to drive via Chattarpur Temple road (approx. 6 km) to Sanjay Colony, which is close to Bhatti village.

Tourist Information
There are no staying options within Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary. However, rest houses are available for the tired visitor. Bird watching, nature and education trails, swimming in the lakes and photography are main activities of the visitors in the reserve. Special permission has to be secured from the forest officials for videography inside the sanctuary. The visitors and researchers can obtain valuable information on the wildlife and biodiversity of the region from the CEC (Conservation Education Centre) located in the Forest Department building.
Chattarpur Temple, Tuglaqabad Fort, Tughlakabad & Adilabad Forests (New Delhi), Surajkund (Haryana), etc. are some of the important historical places located near the sanctuary. Asola Bhatti Sanctuary is generally closed on Saturdays and Sundays. However, it can be opened for a group of 10 or more visitors.
