BILIGIRI RANGASWAMY TEMPLE WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Yelandur and Kollegal taluks of Chamarajanagar district in Tamil Nadu. Being at the convergence of the Eastern Ghats and the Western Ghats it forms a crucial wildlife corridor between the two Ghats, thereby connecting the largest populations of tigers and Asian Elephants in southern part of India. The sanctuary is also referred to as BRT Wildlife Sanctuary and is about 90 km away from the city of Mysore.

Flora
Evergreen, moist deciduous, dry deciduous, semi-evergreen, scrub and shola forests.
Fauna
Tiger, leopards, Asian elephants, rat snake, gaur, sambar deer, four-horned antelope, sloth bears, olive keelback, wolf snake, etc.
According to one recent tiger count report there are at present approximately 17 tigers in the reserve.
Avian Fauna
Malabar Whistling Thrush, Paradise flycatcher, Crested Hawk Eagle and Yellow throated bulbul.
Getting there
Bangalore International Airport (about 220 km) and Coimbatore Airport (about 185 km) are the nearest airports to the reserve. Chamarajanagar railway station (40 km) is the nearby train station to BRT wildlife sanctuary.
From Bangalore one can reach the reserve by road via Kollegala town. From Coimbatore one can reach the Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary through TNSTC or KSRTC buses via Chamarajanagar. These buses ply at a regular interval of 20 minutes.
Tourist Information
Tourists can avail accommodation at Maharaja's Hunting Lodge and Jungle Lodges, which are located within the sanctuary. The K. Gudi Camp also offers perfect facilities for hosting conferences and meetings for the visitors.
Some of the popular tourist activities in the sanctuary are trekking, professional angling, amateur fishing, outdoor camping, bird watching, river rafting and coracle boat rides.
