is through road. Regular transport services ply between Kargil and Heniskot route which is linked
through National Highway 1.
Tourist information
There are no options for accommodation inside the sanctuary. The town of Heniskot is the only
option for staying in the vicinity of the forests.
As a result of the remoteness of Kanji sanctuary together with its cold harsh climate and rugged
topography, only few tourists visit this sanctuary.
The low-lying regions of the sanctuary are ideal places for trekking. Always wear proper clothing and
shoes for trekking. It is also advisable to carry enough provisions of water and food and always keep
handy your search lights and emergency numbers during the trekking expeditions.
All the information about the visiting tourists is available with the Regional Wildlife Warden
