PAMED WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Pamed Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in southern Chhattisgarh in the district of Dantewada. It
is located in the vicinity of the state border with Andhra Pradesh. It was declared a wildlife
sanctuary in the year 1986 by the Madhya Pradesh Government.

Flagship animal: Wild Indian Buffalo
Other animals: Tiger, black buck, leopard, hyena, spotted deer, mongoose, Indian gazelle, sloth
bear, porcupine, wolf, wild dog, wild boar, bison, etc.

Parrots, peacock, wood pecker, stork, quail, pigeons and many more.
Getting there
The nearest railway station and bus terminal are located at Kirundal, about 42 km away.
Kirundal is well connected with other important cities such as Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad,
Raipur, through well-developed rail network and roadways. Closest airports to Pamed Wildlife
Sanctuary are at Vishakhapatnam and Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
Tourist Information
The visitors can find quality hotels, resorts and guest houses at Kirundal. Nature trail, trekking
and jeep safaris are popular tourist activities here and it is mandatory for visitors to be
accompanied by forest guides. Tourists have to visit the sanctuary in a group prearranged either
by private organizers or the Range officers.
