Established in 1981, Sanjay Dubri Tiger Reserve is situated in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. It
comprises of Dubri Wildlife Sanctuary and Sanjay National Park. It forms the watershed of river Son
and its tributaries.

Flora
Sal, Dhawa, Achar, Khair, Kari, Tendu, Palas and Yeak. Deccan deciduous forest and a mixture of
moist deciduous and subtropical forest are the prime vegetation cover of the region.
Fauna
According to the 2004 tiger census, the reserve had around six tigers. However, as per the 2010 tiger
survey, Sanjay Dubri tiger reserve along with the Guru Ghasidas National Park have only five tigers.
Other animals found: Panther, Cheetal, Leopard, Chinkara, Blue Bull, Bengal Monitor, Sambhar, Rock
Python, Barking Deer, Wolf, Bear, Russell Viper, Common Cobra, Flying Squirrel, Wild Boar, Wild Dog,
Jackal, Garden Lizard, Common Langurs, etc.
Avian Fauna
White Ibis, Egrets, Herons, Whistling Teal, White-necked Stork, Myna, Parakeets, Paradise Fly
Catchers, Kingfishers, Warblers, Sand Pipers, Nightjars, etc.
Getting there
Closest airports are at Varanasi (about 210 km) and at Jabalpur (nearly 220 km). Nearest bus
terminals are located at Sidhi (about 70 km away) and Shahdol. Rewa Railway station (about 170 km
away) is the closest railway station to the reserve. Other adjoining railhead to the park is at Shahdol
and Sidhi.
Tourist information
Tourists can avail quality lodging facilities at Forest Department accommodations at Bastua and
Dubri. More lodging options are available at Sidhi.
For any permits or reservations, the visitors need to contact Game Range Officer, Majhouli. Tourists
can visit the Shiva Temple, located inside the reserve. Other nearby places of interest are
Bandhavgarh National Park and the adjoining towns of Umaria and Sidhi.
