SHERGARH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Shergarh Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Rajasthan, in the vicinity of Shergarh town. It is located about 130km south-east of Kota. The sanctuary was established in the year 1983.

Flora
Teak, Khair, Dhok and numerous rare and endangered plant species.

Fauna
Tigers, Chinkara, Leopards, Endemic Deer, Hyena, Chitals, Sloth Bear, Chinkara, etc.

Getting there
The closest aerodromes to Shergarh Wildlife Sanctuary are at Jodhpur, Jaipur and Udaipur. Baran railway station, 67km away, on the Kota-Bina section of Western Central Railways is the closest railhead. Nearest bus terminal is at Baran town which is well connected with Delhi and important cities and towns in Rajasthan through NH-76.

Tourist Information
Tourists can find lodging in the hotels, guest houses and resorts located near the sanctuary. Bird spotting and jungle safaris are major activities of the tourists here. Shergarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Sitabari, Manihara Mahadev Mandir and Kakoni are popular places in the vicinity of the sanctuary.

The tourists are advised to carefully read the rules and regulations of the forest before entering the sanctuary. Carrying of plastic bags, explosive items and pets inside the reserve is strictly prohibited. Do not litter inside the sanctuary. Bring back all your waste that are non-degradable and cannot be recycled.
